Australian Museum

The newly renovated almost 200-year-old Australian Museum offers great experiences for a family day out. Here you will find everything from dinosaurs to insects including a sky-high T-Rex.

One of the fun activities that your toddler will love is the Prehistoric Playground – a space where mini palaeontologists are able to design their own dinosaurs, explore real fossils, and investigate how feathers and wings have evolved for flight by making aerodynamic objects inspired by nature.

There are baby change facilities and a café offering healthy options. The museum is also set across the street from Hyde Park, an ideal location for a picnic.

Tickets: the entry is FREE except for some major exhibitions.
