One of the most iconic landmarks in Indonesia, Tegallalang Rice Terraces are worth a visit (early in the morning recommended to avoid crowds). The rice grows on perfectly formed steps along the side of the hill.
Located in a valley, the place offers scenic lookouts and amazing green landscapes. And if you’re a fan of coffee, there’s Bali Pulina plantation, a place to learn the process of making traditional Luwak Coffee, just about 1.3km away from the Terrace.
A carrier is recommended for hiking around the area. Be aware of the stray dogs, tell your toddler not to touch them, and they’ll leave you peacefully. Bring bottled water and don’t forget to put on insect repellant regularly.
Tickets: IDR 15,000 p/p, IDR 5,000 for parking.
