Gunung Kawi Cliff Temple is an 11th-century temple that features shrines carved into the rock at the bottom of a river valley.
To reach the temple, you will have to walk downstairs for about 5 minutes, while enjoying the view of the rice terrace and a river that you will pass on the way.
The temple is a 30-minute drive from Ubud and close to Tirta Empul Temple, so the two attractions become a great combination to visit together.
Just like other Hindu temples, this one has requirements to enter. It is advisable to wear pants covering the knees.
Bring bottled water and don’t forget to put on insect repellant regularly.
