When in Eatons Hill, visit Kumbartcho Sanctuary where you will find a haven for native flora and fauna including a fairytale village hidden within the property. Toddlers will love searching for a fairy post box, catching Wally the Wombat asleep or finding tooth fairy school and gnome hollow.
The pathways at the sanctuary meander around Kumbartcho Lake and along the banks of South Pine River where you will be able to spot abundant native bird life, koalas, possums, turtles, lizards, ducks, and maybe even a green sedge frog within frog hollow.
There is also Kumbartcho Environment Centre featuring an interactive ‘touch and feel’ corner and educational materials (crafts, books, puzzles, crosswords etc.) to keep the little one engaged. Full of activities and adventures, the park includes a children’s playground with barbecue facilities, swings, climbing equipment, and a colonial cubbyhouse.
The park and the playground are open to the public FREE of charge.
