Take a trip outside the city and visit Malahide Castle & Gardens. Almost 800 years old, the fortress and private home are located in the beautiful seaside town of Malahide.
There is Talbot Family Exhibition and a guided tour that you could take. The guides speak a number of languages including German, Spanish, Russian and others. The house is furnished with historic furniture and Irish paintings from the National Gallery taking you back in time.
The Talbot Botanic Gardens, created by Lord Milo Talbot, a passionate gardener, feature a butterfly house, walking trails, old abbey ruins, and a playground for toddlers.
There is Avoca Store, Cafe and Food market. The castle is wheelchair (thus strollers) accessible. The attraction is a 10-minute walk from Malahide DART station. Malahide Road Train travels from the Station to the castle and seaside.
