Representing an example of a small, working-class Roman town, Ostia Antica is the perfect, less-touristy equivalent to Pompeii.
The ancient port is just 25km outside of the city of Rome. Also called the gate of Rome on the Mediterranean, the city provides a peaceful and refreshing escape from the city to the beach on a hot summer day.
