Visit Albufera Natural Park, an urban oasis with rice fields and forest, to understand the place where paella was invented.
You can take a walk along one of the six marked trails to discover aquatic birds and local fishermen, eat authentic paella at El Palmar and take a traditional boat ride on the L’Albufera lake.
There are piers in the Gola de Pujol and in the ports of Catarroja, Silla, Sollana and El Palmar. The ride is taken in craft boats called albuferencs and can be taken during sunset.
You can also book excursions that combine a boat ride with a visit to a typical barraca or with an authentic paella.
Boat rides fares start from €8 per person.
