Built during the Great Depression in 1932, Wynnum Wading Pool is a rare example of an early technology of sandy-floored wading tidal pool. During a hot summer, you can be amongst others who flock to cool off or paddle in the seawater that ebbs and flows via three pipes in the concrete sea barrier wall.
Tiers of stairs that surround the 128m x 54m pool double as easy access and a sort of semi-submerged grandstand, ideal for child-minding purposes.
There are some trees throwing shade on the grass where you can have a picnic or a barbecue. There is also an adjoining playground to keep your toddler entertained.
The pool is FREE.
